Article from DMTC's website....

Our biggest project so far has definitely been the vehicle students affectionately call "The Beast" for short. As you can probably tell from the knickname, DMTCs 2000 Lexus RX300, competes in the MECA's SPL division. It has already taken home several trophies and broken the 150dB barrier.

The system has four Kicker ZX750.1 amps each driving a Solo-Baric L5-15 All of this is mounted in a custom built "ported" enclosure. This setup, along with Boston's GT-40 4 channel amp for the door speakers, puts our total system power at almost 4000 watts!

Our electrical need all the help it can get to push this kind of power. We back it up with an Optima "Yellowtop" battery, two Xstaic "Batcaps" and four Tsunami "stiffening" capacitors. All of these modification provide excellent opportunities to reinforce electrical principles learned in class.

Our sponsors for this project are
Boston, Tsunami/MetraOptima, Monster Cable, Xstatic. and Kicker. All these great companies have generously given of their time and equipment. We look forward to turning some new heads and  getting them more of the recognition they deserve.
